Omega: At home nursing a relapse of bronchitis . . .

. . . so nothing in the cards after last weekend's whirlwind trip to Vegas. Was wearing the Rail for over a week, just switched to the vintage Omega MI 2214. Maybe the radium will kill the bugs in my throat.

Omega: A Flightmaster 145.013, yes . . .

. . . but not the Memomatic alarm cased in Flightmaster clothing.

Omega: The '70s were . . .

. . . my decade. Cars, films, music, watches . . . the best of everything.

Omega: If gluttony for watches is a sin . . .

Omega: The collection it came from was staggeringly spectacular . . .

. . . with several Breitlings and TAGs in addition to Omegas, maybe a hundred altogether. The collector bought the majority of them to possess, not to wear.

Omega: Let me put it this way: you can count the number of vintage Omegas . . .

. . . that could still make their way to my collection on the fingers of one hand. The chiming Flightmaster is one of therm. ;-)

Omega: Well, if they're not too hard to find in that condition . . .

. . . then I guess another chance will come my way.

Omega: That was the main attraction - try to find one . . .

. . . without scratches. This had to be the best example in existence.

Omega: Another treasure from Dr No's photo files: Memomatic ref 166.071 . . .

. . . that shares its case with the Flightmaster. This example was essentially NOS from a German collector. I was sorely tempted to snag it for my collection but missed out for some unfathomable reason. Every time I see these images I wonder, "What if?" Art
